Benjamin Tahirovic reflects on decision to depart Roma

Former Roma midfielder Benjamin Tahirovic is enjoying his new life at Ajax.

In a recent interview with Gianlucadimarzio.com, Tahirovic reflected on his decision to depart Roma – the club where he made his senior debut under Jose Mourinho as a member of the Primavera – and join the legendary Dutch side.

“I left Roma because Ajax is a legendary club with a great history. I needed a change of scenery to grow both as a player and as a person. Throughout its history Ajax has always developed many young talents, so I came here.”

“I learned a lot from José Mourinho and if I start telling everything we’ll be here all night. Instead in my position I learned a lot from Nemanja Matic who is a great player and a fantastic person.”

While in Holland football is fast and you have to think a lot when in possession. You must always be one step ahead of your opponent. And Ajax is a team that always has the ball
