Bologna CEO and former Roma executive Claudio Fenucci shared his thoughts on last night’s last-gasp draw between the Giallorossi and Fiorentina—a result which narrowed his team’s lead in fourth position.

Diego Llorente’s sensational finish at the death brought Roma within one game of Thiago Motta’s side, who fell to 1-0 to Inter on Saturday evening but still occupy the final Champions League place.

“Did Roma’s last-second draw ruin our evening? That seems a bit much to say. In the end, we’re focused on our team’s journey, taking it one game at a time, as our Thiago [Motta] says, aiming to achieve a dream,” Fenucci told Rai Radio.

“The team’s progress and the work being done leave us very confident. Yesterday’s game between Fiorentina and Roma was a beautiful one, De Rossi is performing really well and has a very high points average.”

“The teams vying for European positions are all well-equipped. A Bologna in Europe would be a wonderful signal for Italian football. As Atalanta has shown in the past, it would offer a new perspective to clubs. It’d demonstrate what can be achieved when the right people are in place at the corporate level and sporting sector.”
