Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson suffers season-ending knee injury ahead of Roma match

Bologna have suffered an important loss in Lewis Ferguson who is set to miss an extended period of time following the latest injury sustained in the recent match against Monza.

As announced by the club, Ferguson has suffered a cruciate ligament injury and will require surgery.

The timeline of recovery is yet to be determined but the player could be out until the end of the calendar year.

In the meantime, Thiago Motta who will have to seek alternative solutions for his midfield as Bologna are set to face Roma in a week’s time in what could prove to be the decisive match for this year’s Champions League race.
