Borussia’s Manuel Akanji an option for Roma’s defense

Roma continue their search for an additional centre-back as the transfer window enters its final weeks. The capital club wish to further strengthen Mourinho’s backline by adding an experienced defender to the Special One’s roster.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Manuel Akanji of Borussia Dortmund is one of the names included in Tiago Pinto’s shopping list.

The 27-year-old could come at favorable conditions given his contract with the German side is set to expire next year.

Dortmund have proposed him to several clubs as they do not wish to lose him for free in the summer of 2023.

Akanji has already been linked with Inter who are also in the search of a physical alternative to Milan Skriniar.
