Bove discusses Mourinho, Napoli loss and Champions League aspirations

Andy Mattioli

Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove was interviewed by Sportmediaset about the Giallorossi’s recent defeat at the Maradona Stadium in Naples as well as the club’s objectives for the near future including the long-awaited Champions League qualification.

“We certainly put in a great performance. Unfortunately we weren’t able to score points and we really want to make up for it in Coppa Italia,” he said ahead of tonight’s cup tie with Cremonese. “It’s an in-or-out game, we have to be focused, motivated and try to bring home the result and go through to the next round.”

“Mourinho? I feel a great deal of gratitude toward him because he gave me the opportunity to show my qualities. The main advice from is to always try to keep working as hard as you can. Calling us children is a nice way to show affection for us.”

“For us the goal is to qualify for Champions League, we want to reach it all together and it could give us enormous satisfaction.”

“You know, sometimes you may feel down but then you remember that you’re 20 and you’re at Roma and it’s the most beautiful thing in the world.”

“Zaniolo? The coach and the club have already addressed this issue. I’m nobody to talk about it.”
