Corriere dello Sport (Aliprandi) – Another week, then he will be free to choose where to play. The future of young Brazilian central defender Matheus Guedes is already written and, barring a sensational twist, the Santos player will sign a contract with Roma. Negotiations began in November with Monchi and will end with Massara: in the next few days the entourage of the ‘99 class youngster will cut-out the final details with the Roma management in order to sign the contract and start his new adventure in Italy.

Alan Bernardo, the agent of the player, told Corriere dello Sport: “Matheus is delighted to be able to sign for Roma. As soon as he learned of concrete interest from the club he began to follow the Giallorossi’s matches”.

Monchi’s departure slowed the closing of the negotiations because they were unsure if mutual interest remained, but it indeed has. Roma would be willing to send him to play on loan and Guedes would not oppose this, though, on the condition he remains in Serie A. The latest discussions between Massara and the agent of the player will allow the sides to clarify the matter, but no unexpected turnarounds are likely. The future of Guedes is already written and within a week: he will be wearing giallorosso.
