Brighton CEO Paul Barber made comments in the aftermath of the English side’s Europa League draw with Roma in the competition’s Round of 16.
“This is another exciting draw for us. This is our first season in Europe, so we wanted to go to a new country and face a different club to the ones we have already faced. It’s definitely a very exciting draw for us,” Barber told the club’s official media.
“It’s very special for us to be in the Europa League. The club has 123 years of history and playing a European competition for the first time is really exciting for the club, the fans, the players and all the staff.”
“We don’t want to make predictions. We will face a very tough opponent in Roma, they have a great history in European competitions and in Serie A.”
“De Zerbi will be certainly happy to be coming to play in Italy,” he added.
