Roma unveiled newly acquired Bruno Peres today at Trigoria, here are his words:
Baldissoni: “As you know, today we present a player that Roma has followed for some time, I can reveal that since before he arrived in Italy we had the opportunity to talk with his agents, but the acquisition was not possible at that time, it is a courtship path that has finally been crowned. It’s the first training session with your teammates, what impression did you have? What did Spalletti say to you?
I am so happy, they embraced me and welcome me very nicely, I’m delighted to get arrive at Roma, a great team. I talked a bit of tactics with the Mister: a defense of 4, which playing in for me is not a problem. I can play either with 4 or 5. I always want to improve, that’s the only thing in my mind.
There were many teams interested in you, why have you chosen Roma?
I don’t know if the interest from various clubs was true or not, I was on holiday, my agent did the work for me and when he told me that he had closed a deal with Roma I was very happy, it’s a great team, one in which I can grow, we can win the Scudetto. It’s important to play in the Champions League and wear the shirt of a great team.
Ventura came here to Trigoria and then the deal went through, was he decisive?
I’m just delighted that everyone is happy with my characteristics, I believe Ventura gave more than a word, he helped me, he spoke well of me and helped me to make this leap in quality.
How are you? Can you play against Udinese?
I’m 100%, I went to the ritiro with Torino and I even played in a match with them – if the Mister wants me to play or put me on the bench, I will be available to help Roma against Udinese.
To Baldissoni: What happened with Castan?
Nothing worked between Castan and Sampdoria. He had interest from several teams, and, apparently, after a few weeks of consistent interest from Torino, this option was preferred by the player. Whatever is best for him is better for us.
Champions such as Cafu and Maicon have played in Rome.
For me, it is a huge pleasure to be here, also from what I remember from Maicon and Cafu: I want to do well as the two of them, they have done very well, but I want to do better and make my own story.
