Bryan Cristante discusses De Rossi’s impact on the team after win over Sassuolo

Roma midfielder Bryan Cristante discussed the impact of Daniele De Rossi in his first two months as the team’s head coach.

After beating Sassuolo 1-0 in tonight’s Serie A match, Cristante spoke to DAZN about De Rossi and his role in the Giallorossi’s recent string of positive results.

“We expected today to be difficult because Sassuolo are fighting to avoid relegation and have just appointed a new coach,” said the Italian midfielder.

“Maybe we were also a little tired at the end of a series of close games, you can’t always win in a spectacular way, but the important thing was to win.”

“The missed call-up from Italy? We had agreed to it, I want to stay behind because I have some physical issue that needs to be resolved.”

“We have been growing steadily since the coach arrived. We are united, the goal is within reach but it is difficult, we cannot give up even for one match. Let’s continue like this, we must be good at unlocking matches of this type, it was essential to win.”

“De Rossi? He brought enthusiasm, he touched the right chords. We are strong, we were strong before but sometimes the season doesn’t always go the way you want. Every now and then by changing you manage to trigger the spark that helps the players to change over the course of the year.”
