Bryan Cristante is on the verge of entering his fifth year and sixth season in the Italian capital.
The Italian midfielder is fresh off a contract renewal until 2027 and his position at the club seems to be untouchable since Jose Mourinho’s arrival, reports Corriere dello Sport.
With Lorenzo Pellegrini suspended for the first Serie A matchday of the new season and Nemanja Matic filing in a request to join Rennes, Cristante is one of the last remaining reference points for Mourinho.
Last season, Cristante featured in 53 games for the Giallorossi which means – with the exception of a handful of matches he was suspended for – he played in every game across all competitions.
Mourinho continues to rely on him and is hoping that Cristante will be able to lead the midfield and help younger players such as Bove and Pagano as well as Roma’s potential new signing in Renato Sanches.
