Bryan Cristante praised Roma and in particular thanked Mourinho for giving the team the needed boost to overcome Bayer Leverkusen.
Following the team’s progression to their second consecutive European final, Cristante commented the match in his interview with Sky Sport.
“It was a difficult game of sacrifice. Everyone was brilliant including those that came off the bench,” said Cristante.
“It was a hard fought battle, two finals in two years is a great achievement. As a group we did a great thing.”
“I recognize myself in Mourinho’s values and I need to maintain them. The coach always asks us to play with those values in mind. Had we not played the way he’d asked us to, we wouldn’t have won.”
“I’m not as comfortable playing as a centreback so I always must be 100% focused when leading the defense.”
