Bryan Cristante looks back on Roma’s 23/24 season after loss to Empoli

Roma midfielder Bryan Cristante shared his opinion on the Giallorossi’s 23/24 campaign that came to an end with tonight’s 2-1 defeat to Empoli.

In his post-match interview with Roma TV, Cristante remarked, “We all wanted to finish the season better. It’s always better to win. With the result in the balance they had so much more motivation than us given that they were fighting against relegation.”

“We had a lot of injuries in the first half of the season, then the manager changed and we fought to recover as many points as possible. There were too many points to recover and there was Europa League as well. We just couldn’t handle both fronts.”

“At the end of the season we were all dead tired,” he added. “We must restart from these last few months, from the good performances and try to replicate them from the beginning of the year so that we can achieve excellent results in the long run.”
