Roma midfielder Bryan Cristante analyzed the importance of last night’s win in Tiraspol against Sheriff.
In his interview with Roma TV at full-time, Cristante said, “It was important to win here away from home. Last year we saw what happens when you finish second – it means having to play an extra round. We wanted to win to get off to a good start because we want to finish first in the group this time around.”
“They are difficult matches because the opponents always give 100%. Maybe at the beginning we didn’t start very well but then during the match we managed to get back into it and finish strong.”
“The important thing is to win, then whoever plays or doesn’t play is fine – that’s secondary. The important thing is to win.. Then it’s clear, the more you play the better you perform.”
