Bryan Reynolds ahead of starting debut: “It’s a special day for me.”

American right back Bryan Reynolds admitted that it’s a special day for him as he prepares to make his starting debut for Roma.

The youngster joined the Giallorossi late in the January transfer window, but has made only one league appearance so far. The club has been patient with the defender, allowing him time to settle in his new surroundings.

Despite their conservative approach, manager Paulo Fonseca has handed Reynolds an important opportunity this evening versus Bologna.

“It’s a special day for me and my career,” he said to Roma TV before kick-off.

“I’m delighted to have the chance to make my starting debut, I’m going to give everything that I have. The football here is played very quickly, but I’ve been training with the team for a few months and I’m starting to get used to the speed.”

He continued, “It’s also much more tactical and defensive, you have to understand the actions of the entire defensive line. You can get punished just with one single mistake. But it’s up to me to demonstrate what I’ve shown in training.”
