Former Roma, Boca Juniors, and Genoa defender Nicolas Burdisso has announced his retirement from football after 19 seasons. The Argentina international took to his official Instagram to make the announcement. These are his words:
“Today, 19 years after my debut, it’s time to end my adventure as a footballer, thank you to all those who have accompanied me on this journey, to God and my family, to my teammates, the clubs, the managers and especially the supporters. Football is my tool I use to be happy and to improve as a person, which is something I’ll continue to do. I’m proud and satisfied…I’ve done everything I’ve dreamed of doing as a child”.
