After suffering their fifth defeat of the season, Cagliari manager Claudio Ranieri admitted his team must get to work fast as they prepare to face Roma on Sunday in Sardegna.
The Sardinians fell 3-0 to Fiorentina on Monday evening and are still searching for their first win of the season. Sitting bottom of the table with just two points, Ranieri insisted his players don’t have time to dwell on the result as they prepare to face his former employers on Sunday evening.
“First off, we have to apologise to the supporters: we didn’t play the way we expected tonight,” began Ranieri during his post-match interview on DAZN.
“Let’s give credit to Fiorentina, they played well plus I’m still in search for ‘my’ team. Obviously we want to avoid relegation this season, so we have to put our heads down, stop talking, and get to work.”
Adding, “However, things aren’t going to get any easier for us. We have a difficult match coming on Sunday against Roma, it’s going to be very tough.”
