Cagliari interested in Riccardi

Roma’s promising 19 year-old midfielder is beginning to draw interest throughout Italy.

Corriere dello Sport reports that Cagliari are interested in acquiring the youngster, who has 13 goals in all Primavera competitions this season with the Giallorossi.

Fiorentina have also expressed their interest in the player — their sporting director Daniele Pradè has already had discussions with Roma’s management team — but the Sardinians are in pole position for his services.

Roma could ultimately sell Riccardi on a permanent deal while also maintaining a buyback option in order to reacquire him in the future.

The club has a lot of belief in Riccardi, but in order for him to find consistent playing time, he will likely have to look outside of the Italian capital.
