Cagliari left back Dalbert at risk for Roma meeting

Dalbert of Cagliari Calcio

Cagliari left back Dalbert could miss out on his side’s league match against Roma on 27 October.

The Brazilian defender injured his left knee in the tenth minute during Cagliari’s 3-1 this past Sunday over Sampdoria. He was eventually replaced by Alessandro Deiola after having difficulties putting weight on his leg.

Scans today revealed that the ex-Inter man suffered a slight tear to his medial collateral ligament and will require some time off before being able to return to the pitch.

Cagliari announced that the player “already started undergoing physical therapy and will be evaluated on a day to day basis.”

He’s expected to be unavailable for at least one week, though, Cagliari are likely to hold him out even longer.
