Current Cagliari and former Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan was interviewed by La Repubblica and spoke about his past with the Giallorossi. Here’s what the Belgian had to say:
Did you think about becoming a bandiera at Roma?
It’s difficult after Totti and De Rossi. But if you want to know if I had thought about ending my career in Rome, I can calmly say yes. I was happy there, I gave my soul, I had everything I wanted. It was a huge disappointment to leave.
Do you like the team they have today?
I think it’s a little more difficult today because it’s a team that has few players with personality. It takes “balls” to play in Rome: everything is beautiful there, but when things go wrong and they whistle you, you need to have character. Many strong players have been impaled by that.
