Cagliari pick up talks for Eldor Shomurodov’s return

Andy Mattioli

Cagliari are hoping to bring back Eldor Shomurodov on a discount from Roma.

The Sardinian side recently decided against activating the buy option present in Shomurodov’s loan.

As a result, the Uzbek striker concluded his spell there and returned to the Italian capital where awaits for his future to be addressed by the club and his agent.

However, as reported by L’Unione Sarda, Cagliari are trying to bring Eldor Shomurodov back to the island.

The Uzbek striker, owned by Roma since 2021, played the entire season on loan to the rossoblu club, collecting only 3 goals and 2 assists in 22 appearances for Claudio Ranieri’s side.

However, the idea seems to have changed momentarily.

Cagliari sporting director Bonato is looking to pick up talks with Roma in order to bring back Shomurodov but under different conditions compared to those agreed a year ago.
