Cagliari’s Strootman, Nández at risk for Roma match

Cagliari manager Walter Mazzarri could be without two of his team’s most important figures for Wednesday’s fixture against Roma in Sardegna.

Midfield duo Kevin Strootman and Nahitan Nández are each recovering from a mild thigh strain and didn’t train with their teammates earlier today.

Strootman, the ex-Roma midfielder, tweaked his hamstring in training late last week and missed out on Sunday’s loss to Fiorentina.

Nández, meanwhile, pulled up injured late in the affair against La Viola and his status for Wednesday won’t be clear until the final moments.

Meanwhile, central defender and Polish international Sebastian Walukiewicz, who has been out for the past month due to injury, will also be unavailable.

Cagliari host Roma on Sunday evening at the Unipol Domus.
