Former Roma left back Vincent Candela, one of the presenters on DAZN for the Giallorossi’s 2-2 draw against Milan, complimented Nicola Zalewski following the team’s late draw.
The capital side scored twice in the final ten minutes to earn a valuable point at the San Siro against the Rossoneri. The result marked the first time Stefano Pioli’s side dropped points at home since mid-September and drew them level on points in the league table with Juventus.
At full time, Zalewski was informed that Candela, one of his heroes, was present in the studio.
He responded, “Candela was certainly a great player, I’ll try to do better than he did even though I know it’ll be difficult.”
In response, Candela thanked the youngster and confessed he possesses the ability to achieve more than himself.
“You’re incredibly strong technically on both the right and left. You play better on the left and have all the qualities to do much better than me,” he said.
“Though, you need to improve your accuracy.”
Zalewski appreciated Candela’s feedback and elaborated on the Giallorossi’s result against the defending Scudetto champions.
“Your words mean a lot, thank you so much. As for tonight, we were to have earned a point,” stated the Polish international.
“We’re happy to have earned a result against a great team and in an important stadium. Our objective was to grab a point and we did well to keep ourselves in the match until the end.”
Finally, “We’re glad to leave here with a point. It’s not coincidence this team won the Scudetto last year, they’re a strong team.”
