Caputo, Defrel could miss out on Roma match

After the drubbing at the hands of Napoli, Roma will look to get back on track this weekend when they host Sassuolo at the Stadio Olimpico following their Europa League commitment on Thursday against Swiss side Young Boys.

The Giallorossi have been decimated by both COVID-cases and injuries throughout the past month but they are crossing their fingers that they will be able to recover central defenders Marash Kumbulla and Chris Smallling ahead of this weekend.

The Neroverdi, though, are also dealing with injury issues and could be without their star striker, Ciccio Caputo, for the clash against Roma.

The 33 year-old is suffering from a problem in his groin while his backup, Gregoire Defrel, is still out with an injury after not being called-up for this past Sunday’s match against Inter.

Manager Roberto De Zerbi may be forced to play with 20 year-old striker Giacomo Raspadori, who has appeared in six matches this season and played 340 minutes.
