Roma attacker Carles Pérez dismissed the idea that his side will simply try to safeguard their lead this evening against Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Spaniard claimed that Roma still plan on playing their brand of football despite a 3-0 aggregate lead over the Ukrainian side.
“Of course we have to defend our 3-0 lead, but we’re here to play out football and score goals,” he said to Sky Sport before kick-off.
“The loss to Parma on Sunday was a tough blow, but the team is fine and we’re prepared for this evening. I always try my best to help the team and I know I can give a lot more.”
He concluded, “I’ve been eager to start a match for awhile, I’ve been doing well over the past month but I want to contribute even more.”
