Carles Pérez expected to start against Gent

Il Tempo (Biafora) – it’s a chance for him to try to become the right-sided attacking winger. For Roma’s European clash against Gent, Paulo Fonseca is ready to use Carles Pérez, who arrived in the January transfer window from Barcelona on loan with easy obligation requirements to make the transfer a permanent one.

The 22 year-old was already in contention to start against Atalanta but instead entered as a substitute — just as he did in the previous two matches. However, he will now have the opportunity to takeover the role that has been abandoned since the injury to Nicolo Zaniolo.

Pérez, who was praised by sporting director Gianluca Petrachi for his attitude in his debut, will now be called upon to give his contribution of assists and goals. The attacker is also out to send a message of “revenge” to Barcelona and their manager Quique Setién — who willingly sold him last month to the Giallorossi.

The Spaniard will be joined alongside Lorenzo Pellegrini and one between Kluivert and Perotti along with Edin Dzeko. Henrikh Mkhitaryan is likely to rested as to not over-exert the attacker so soon after returning from injury.
