Carles Pérez: “I’m here whenever the coach needs me.”

Carles Pérez gave Roma a much needed spark in the second half to today’s late victory against Salernitana. The Spaniard was praised for his effort by Jose Mourinho.

Following the game, Pérez was interviewed by the club. “We already knew it was going to be a difficult match, but I think in the end the team knew how to react,” he said.

“We have won and got the 3 points which are very important for the league standings.”

When asked about Mourinho’s praise for his work ethic, the 24-year-old said, “It is my job. Training well is also ideal for playing well in a match.”

“I’m here whenever the coach needs me and I always try to do my best to help the team,” he concluded.

“Scoring today was great, I hadn’t scored in a long time, and when the fans call your name it’s a great feeling.”

“I thank the fans for the way they support us,” said Pérez.
