Roma followed up their league victory from last Sunday with a dominating performance this evening against Zorya Luhansk in the Europa Conference League.

The Giallorossi smashed the Ukrainian side 4-0 thanks to goals from Nicolo Zaniolo, Carles Pérez, and a brace from Tammy Abraham.

The victory secured Roma’s place in the knockout stages of the competition as they sit second in Group C with ten points. They still trail table-toppers Bodø/Glimt by one point, though, they’ll have the chance to leapfrog them in the final group match should the Norweigans fail to win.

When asked about his team’s victory after full-time, Pérez expressed his delight at being able to find the back of the net in a crucial win.

“It felt great to be back starting, I’m tired. But I’m very happy that we won and that I scored a goal,” he told DAZN.

“I believe I performance well, our objective was to secure qualification this evening and we did so. My goal is to help this team as much as I can when the manager calls on me.”

He continued, “Our season is starting to take better shape. This is our second win in a row after a very rough spell for us. We want to continue on this path and win the next one, too.”

The Giallorossi are back in action this Sunday, hosting Torino at the Stadio Olimpico.
