Real Madrid manager and former Roma player Carlo Ancelotti shared his thoughts on the Giallorossi’s transfer window and consequently their season objectives with Mourinho entering his second year at the club.
“I think Roma have strengthened themselves a lot in this window,” Ancelotti told Radio Radio.
“I am not saying that they will fight for the Scudetto, but they’ve certainly raised the bar in this transfer window.”
“When you say that Roma are in the Scudetto race, it means putting more pressure on an environment that is already on fire because Mourinho did a great job both on a technical level by winning the Conference League and from a psychological point of view.”
“He has brought back a great deal of enthusiasm to the city. To say that Roma will fight for the Scudetto seems to me a way to spoil this.”
“He can certainly fight for the top objectives and then we’ll see, but at the moment Juventus, Inter and Milan are one step ahead.”
Finally, Ancelotti described his relationship with Mourinho. “We have always had a good relationship. Every now and then we call each other up, we exchange messages to pay each other compliments. We’re two old guys that just keep on going.”
