Roma are scheduled to face local side Casa Pia later today in their second friendly in Algarve.
Casa Pia manager Filipe Martins – who thus far was able to secure a place among the top five teams in this year’s Primeira Liga – spoke to Tuttomercatoweb about the much talked about link between Mourinho and the national team.
“I don’t think Mourinho is ready to leave Roma. He is in a special place, they will soon be able to fight for the Scudetto and I think he is in a great moment in his career.”
“He’s helping the team grow, I don’t think a 50-50 job between the national team and the club is equally possible. I don’t think it would be right for anyone but regardless I don’t think it’s time for him to go and lead Portugal. He can still do great things at Roma and I see him as a club manager who guides his team day by day.”
“I love José Mourinho but my type of leadership is different. Mourinho is, also thanks to his experience, to what he has achieved in his career, to his trophies, an important personality. I like him a lot, but he is not my point of reference: we’re different in terms of style and character.”
