Cassano insults Totti: “Within 20 years he’ll be forgotten about.”

Antonio Cassano, former Italian striker

Former Roma and Real Madrid attacker Antonio Cassano hit out at Giallorossi supporters while simultaneously insulting club legend Francesco Totti.

The ex-Bari made his usual appearance on the Twitch channel Bobo TV and commented on the reception Roma supporters gave to former manager Luciano Spalletti on Sunday.

“What happened to Spalletti on Sunday is a shame. He’s a manager that loved Roma and did wonderful things at the club,” he said.

“Did they whistle him because he’s the one who made Totti retire? All this happened because he didn’t play Totti after his whining? I wish Totti well, but he’s 45 years-old and still today he would say that he could make a difference on the pitch.”

“Spalletti made the right decisions and carried Roma back into the Champions League. What are we even talking about here? The supporters must think about the good of Roma, the behavior towards Spalletti is unfair.”

He added, “In twenty years, Totti will be forgotten about. Only the Messi’s, the Maradona’s, and the Cruijff’s are eternal.”

Cassano spent five years in the Italian capital, amassing 52 goals in 161 total appearances before transferring to Real Madrid in 2006.
