Castan salutes Roma

Leandro Castan took to his official Instagram to bid farewell to Roma. The Brazilian leaves Trigoria after having arrived in 2012. Castan will sign with Brazilian side Vasco de Gama, however, he took his time today to say goodbye to the Giallorossi. Here is an excerpt of his farewell:

“The day to say goodbye has arrived, today I have ended my contract with Roma after 6 years. I arrived here as a boy filled with dreams, it was a so-so first season but then my Brazilian national team debut arrived, then in the second season I thought of the biggest dream: the Scudetto, but we faced a difficult opponent (Juve), and then I went on holiday but with the thought that the third season would go well, I felt like I was in the best moment of my career and I was sure this year we would win, but then something unexpected arrived during my adventure, only my family and I know how difficult this challenge was, but I beat this opponent, I won. I am more than proud. God really does exist because I don’t know what I could’ve done on my own – I thank God every single day. I slowly lost my place at Roma but I will be forever grateful for everything, I was not able to win a trophy with you but I hope to have left something more important, do not give up, no matter how many times defeat or disappointment comes – never give up! I still have not given up and I will never give up! I salute you, I will continue on my path, I will always support Roma.”

È arrivato il giorno del saluto , oggi ho chiuso un contrato dopo 6 anni con la Roma , sono arrivato qui un ragazzo pieno di sogni , una prima stagione così così ma che me è arrivato il esordio in nazionale brasiliana , una seconda stagione che pensavo di arrivare al sogno più grande , lo scudetto , però un avversario difficile da battere (juve), sono andado in vacanza però con il pensiero che la terza stagione era la buona , me sentivo nel migliore momento di mia carriera e ero sicuro ,questo anno vinciamo , ma è arrivato al improviso un avversario che io mai sognato di affrontarlo , solo io ed mia famiglia sappiamo quanto è stato dura questa partita , questo avversario ho vinto e sono più che orgoglioso , Dio, si ,Lui ,Dio esiste veramente perché da solo non lo so cosa avrei fatto per questo ringrazio Dio tutti giorni , la Roma piano piano ho perso mio spazio ma sarò grato per sempre di tutto , non sono riuscito a vincere un trofeo con voi però spero di avere lasciato qualcosa di più importante , NON MOLLARE , non importa quante volte arriverà la sconfitta,delusione , non mollare mai !!! Io ancora non ho mollato e non mollerò mai !!! Vi saluto , continuerò la mia strada , tiferò sempre per la ROMA ed !!! Il ragazzo pieno di sogni continua il suo camino !!!
