Marseille attacker Cengiz Ünder summarised his early tenure with the French side since joining in the summer from Roma.

After four years, the Turk left the Giallorossi once it became clear that he wouldn’t have a place under new manager José Mourinho.

But when asked about his first four months with Marseille, Ünder reiterated his delight for deciding to move to the club from Roma.

“I’ve settled in here quickly, everything is going really well for me,” he said to UEFA.com.

“But I’ve accomplished a lot in a short period of time. I’m really, really happy to be here. You hear and read a lot about the supporters, everyone knows about this club’s fans and now I understand why.”

“This is one of the things that struck me most: the relationship between the club and the supporters. I get to play in front of the best supporters in Europe.”

He added, “Roma supporters were also amazing, but different. I can definitely say the best supporters are here in Marseille, they have enormous influence. As soon as you walk on to the pitch you can feel their influence.”
