Cesc Fabregas lauds De Rossi: “It’s not a coincidence that midfielders make good coaches.”

Andy Mattioli

Legendary Spanish footballer and current Como manager Cesc Fabregas discussed the phenomenon of other former players in his position who went on to coach in Italy.

In an interview with Sky Sport, Fabregas – who recently earned a historic promotion to Serie A with Como – was asked about the likes of Daniele De Rossi and Thiago Motta and their respective journeys from playing to coaching.

“It is no coincidence that many midfielders are becoming good coaches,” he said.

“Being there means always being at the center of the game. They know what’s going on and they absorb all of the information,” he added.
