Roma defender Mert Çetin is nearing a move to Hellas Verona.
Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that the Giallorossi are closing in on an agreement with the Venetian side for the transfer of the Turkish defender.
The 23-year-old will move to Ivan Juric’s team on loan with an option to buy. However, Roma will possess a counter option in their favor.
It was important for the Giallorossi to maintain control of the young defender’s future. Paulo Fonseca blocked a January transfer for Çetin as he rates the player highly.
The defender joined Roma last summer but has made only 5 appearances for the club this season.
