Chelsea offer Chalobah to Sporting: Roma remain interested

Andy Mattioli

Roma continue to be interested in out-of-favor Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah.

The young centreback is set for a move away from Stamford Bridge in January and is being linked with several options ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chalobah was recently offered to Sporting Lisbon in a potential swap deal with Ousmane Diomande. Sporting promptly rejected this proposal from Chelsea.

In the meantime, Crystal Palace have also come knocking on Chelsea’s door.

The newspaper adds that Roma have already made initial inquiries for Chalobah and are interested in signing him on loan for the remainder of the season. The capital club are hoping to take advantage of the positive relations between Roma President Dan Friedkin and Chelsea’s Todd Boehly.
