Romelu Lukaku’s future remains uncertain as the Belgian striker continues his one-year loan in the Italian capital.
Despite putting up impressive numbers – 15 goals in 27 appearances – across all competitions, Lukaku could end up leaving Roma at the end of the season.
At this moment in time, Il Messaggero claims there are no margins for negotiations to begin between Roma and Chelsea over a permanent deal for the ex-Inter Milan attacker.
Chelsea have even gone as far as giving Roma a special discount, reducing Lukaku’s pricetag down to €30 million. Roma, however, will not be able to match this fee as things currently stand.
It is therefore difficult to see Lukaku in the capital next year too, with the only hope dictated only by Roma’s eventual qualification for the Champions League. In this case, then, the tables on the table could change but it is still too early to make predictions.
