Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah advances as Roma’s top January target

Andy Mattioli

Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is said to be climbing the list of Roma’s transfer preferences ahead of the January window.

The English centreback is among the names Roma are reportedly consider to further strengthen their backline mid-season.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chalobah is now one of the favorites to join the Giallorossi in January due to the fact that Roma would be signing him on loan.

The capital club will not be able to afford to make any January deal a permanent one from the get-go. Instead, Roma will have to rely on acquiring a defender on loan.

The conditions for Chalobah’s arrival seem favorable toward the Giallorossi, also given that the 24-year-old is coming off an injury and hasn’t made an appearance for the Blues all season long.
