Chievo Verona legend Sergio Pellissier weighed in on his friend’s – Daniele De Rossi’s – start to life as head coach of Roma.

In an interview with TeleradioStereo, Pellissier noted the positives from the club’s decision to switch managers, from Jose Mourinho to De Rossi.

“I have followed Daniele since he started coaching at SPAL, he struggled because it was undoubtedly not easy,” said Pellissier. “I believe he knows how to manage and convey his love for this shirt, that badge and those fans.”

“At Roma he transformed himself into an important coach, he loves this shirt, he is a real fan and he transmits to everyone around the team and to the team itself the security of having a gladiator – he gives you the confidence to move forward. I don’t think the results can change that much if the players are the same, I think that unlike Mourinho, he believed in them from the beginning.”

“The Portuguese manager, however, at a certain point seemed to want to blame them. But Daniele deserves this moment, with him you have found a coach who has the same passion that a fan can have.”
