Roma defender Chris Smalling is hoping to make his return to the pitch in the coming weeks.
After missing over months with a chronic knee injury, the Englishman is expected to be able to return to Jose Mourinho’s disposal after the international break.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Smalling made a breakthrough recently as he agreed to undergo new methods of innovative physiotherapy which he’d been opposed to up until a few days ago.
Following his consultation with British surgeon Andy Williams in London, the veteran centreback has given his approval to speed up the recovery process.
The predicted timeline for his return is estimated at around 15-20 days from now.
