Roma defender Chris Smalling spoke after last night’s defeat to the club’s official channel, Roma TV, reacting to the late minute defeat which will inevitably force the Giallorossi to make up for it in next week’s return leg at the Olimpico in Rome.
“To concede like that in the last minutes after dominating the majority of the match is a big disappointment,” said the English centreback.
“Obviously it would have been better if we had kept the score as it was and avoided conceding the late goal, but I think especially in the second game where we’ll be at home with a full stadium. We’ve had big European nights at our stadium and we’re going to need it next week with all our fans behind us.”
