Roma are still dealing with several key injuries in the first team squad.
As more and more players return from international duty, Jose Mourinho has still been unable to rely on the likes of Chris Smalling, Diego Llorente and Renato Sanches.
All three players were expected to return to group training earlier this week after missing considerable time with muscle injuries – except for Smalling who has been suffering of a bad case of tendonitis.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma do not want to rush any of them back and will likely wait until the end of the week before calling up Smalling and Llorente for the match against Monza.
Sanches, on the other hand, is unlikely to be called up.
