Roma defender Chris Smalling analyzed the team’s performance in last night’s defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.

The English centreback spoke to Roma TV at full-time at the Stadio Olimpico.

“I think the both teams created the same number of chances, on another day we probably would have scored one or two goals,” he said.

“We were unlucky in crucial moments of the match, we were playing against a strong team and another important match awaits us on Sunday. After that, we will think about Leverkusen, but tonight we are very disappointed and bitter.”

“Tonight we are disappointed, but from tomorrow we have to focus on the match against Juventus because we need points in the league, so we don’t have too much time to regret this result. We’ll think about it tonight, but from tomorrow we’ll be focused on Juve.”

“Afterwards we will think about how to score the first goal against Leverkusen. We have already experienced situations like this, we have already played semi-finals and finals, I think the experience will help us.”
