English defender Chris Smalling is nearing a long-awaited new deal with Roma.
After much speculation regarding his future, Smalling is edging closer toward a new long-term deal with the club that welcomed him in 2019.
Only a few months away from free agency, the player’s agent has landed in Italy and is ready to continue discussing the details of a new deal that will likely see the veteran centreback sign until 2025.
According to Leggo, Roma are optimistic regarding the deal which will be worth around €3.5 million plus bonuses.
The club are reportedly not afraid to lose Smalling the same way they lost Henrikh Mkhitaryan at the end of last season after the Armenian attacker made a last minute decision to turn down the Giallorossi’s bid in favor of Inter Milan.
