Chris Smalling flies to London for medical consultation

Chris Smalling’s return from injury remains uncertain.

After suffering from chronic tendinitis for the past two months, the English defender has yet to make an appearance since his last one took place in Roma’s defeat to Milan.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Smalling’s uncertain physical condition has Roma very worried.

The veteran centreback seems reluctant to further risk aggravating the injury by returning to group training.

Therefore, earlier today the player decided to fly to London – with Roma’s agreement – and meet with surgeon Andy Williams who recently operated on Tammy Abraham’s knee.

The consultation will serve to assess whether Roma’s methods have been successful and whether his recovery is progressing in the right direction.
