Chris Smalling: “I want to stay available, I’ve missed too many games.”

Roma defender Chris Smalling had another excellent performance for the Giallorossi in their impressive 4-1 away win at Bergamo.

The English centre-back was interviewed by the club’s official channels after the final whistle.

“Tonight was a complete performance by the whole team, especially in the head-to-head clashes this step forward was needed.”

“We all got involved, we ran and fought and in the end we got what we deserved. After the game you can see clearly the enthusiasm.”

“We have to celebrate and start from here because this is a great victory. Let’s start from here.”

“Last year it was difficult, the previous game gave me a much needed boost, I was hoping to be able to play another game before Christmas and I had time to recover. Now I want to stay available, I’ve already lost too many games.”

“Scoring goals is great but I have to think about helping the team. That’s all.”
