Roma defender Chris Smalling had a brilliant 22/23 campaign.
The English centreback was in fact one of Europe’s defensive leaders last season with the highest win rate in tackles made in all of the continent’s top five division.
As reported by Squawka, Smalling contested 300 duels in all competitions in 22/23, winning 218 of them.
That makes him statistically Europe’s top defender with a 72.7% win rate.
