Roma defender Chris Smalling shared his thoughts at full-time at Red Bull Arena regarding the Giallorossi’s chances of advancing to the next Europa League round despite a defeat in the first leg in Austria.
“Tonight we conceded a goal in the last minute which is always tough but we had at least two great chances to score ourselves.”
“We have to analyze this match, and next Thursday we will have to push to overturn the result. We will be able to count on 60,000 fans at our stadium,” he told reporters after the match.
“We want to advance, and go far as we did last year in Europe with some great matches and great evenings. Now we must turn our attention to Sunday’s game and then immediately to next Thursday because we want to be the ones to go through.”
