Chris Smalling nears return: could be called up for Roma-Torino

Roma defender Chris Smalling is finally nearing a return to the pitch after being sidelined for over a month with a thigh injury.

According to Sky Sport, the Englishman will almost certainly miss the matches against Genoa and Zorya in the Conference League.

However, the Englishman is expected to resume group training after the weekend and could be called up for Roma-Torino.

Mourinho counts on him and hopes to regain some much needed defensive stability with the veteran’s recovery.
