Chris Smalling ponders Premier League return

Andy Mattioli

Chris Smalling is yet to make a decision regarding his future as he enters his final stretch under contract with Roma.

The Giallorossi have offered the English veteran defender a two-year deal worth around €5 million (€2.5 million per season). However, according to calciomercato.com, Smalling has not yet responded to this proposal.

According to the sports outlet, the ex-Man United man could consider a return to the Premier League as a free agent in the coming months and is willing to consider any incoming offers from England.

Smalling’s ideal scenario is to play his final years in England in order to be closer to his family home. For now, Roma are demanding an answer before the end of the month as they consider him a crucial member of the dressing room and Mourinho’s eleven.
