Roma defender Chris Smalling made his return to the Italian capital following a medical consultation in London.
Earlier in the week, the veteran centreback flew to London – accompanied by members of Roma’s medical staff – to meet with surgeon Andy Williams who confirmed the excellent rehabiliation plan devised by the capital club.
The diagnosis was very positive – reports La Repubblica – with Williams openly praising Roma’s methods to ensure Smalling’s complete recovery.
However, the main issue persists – Smalling continues to feel pain in his knee and is unable to step on the training ground with the rest of his teammates.
The defender is hesitant due to his fear of reaggravating the chronic injury he’s suffered over these last months.
